When I first formed KCWP, I was reliant on just a few re-processing companies as customers and formed an ongoing business relationship with Aylesford Newsprint who were not concerned by the fact that, as a ‘minnow,’ I could only supply them with 50 tonnes of paper per month. That relationship thrives to this day – although KCWP now supplies Aylesford Newsprint with 1,000 + tonnes per month!

In a recent Safety, Health, Environmental and Fire Prevention (SHEF) report, Aylesford Newsprint summarised the situation as follows:

“Paper reprocessing must be sustained if the wider community is to benefit from the greenhouse gas avoidance that the diversion of recyclable paper from landfill brings. Local and national authorities and their collection agencies therefore need to continue to work with pre-processors to ensure continued UK-based manufacture of high quality recycled products. The starting point for which is quality, source-segregated material supply”.
